7 Last Words - "I Thirst"
After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” -John 19:28

As I close my eyes and reflect on this passage, I envision our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the cross. Hours of being mistreated and in pain. All while fulfilling the purpose of his life for all mankind. He is crucified for me. He died for my sins. He died for your sins. My heart aches at the thought of His suffering. He was thirsting an unquenchable thirst so that I wouldn't have to. He was thirsting for the salvation of the world...

Dear God,
Your Word says "anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
We thank You for our new life, even if we are undeserving. We thank you for quenching our thirst through your Son, Jesus Christ.
Amen
